Methods and tools for the design of static power converters


“Sabbatical year” between LAPLACE (UMR 5213 CNRS – INPT - UPS) and Liebherr Toulouse Aerospace

Development of a software tool for the pre-design of static power converters: losses and weight evaluation.
Project followed by Toulouse Tech Transfer ( and in collaboration with an industrial company of Toulouse.

  • High current / low voltage power converter topologies connected to electrochemical components: research of best compromises of efficiency and power to weight ratio [1].
    Project: Hybridizing of an emergency electrical network with a lithium-ion battery (initiated by Direction Générale de l’aviation Civile).
  • Modelling and characterization of lithium-ion batteries in electromechanical chains [2, 3] .
    Projects: solar vehicle of the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, and the "More Electrical Aircraft" (initiated by Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile).
